Research

Since the inception of the NAC, we have continued developing and enriching the content of our Digital Anatomy Atlas of the brain. Our goal has been to create both a reference tool-for education and surgical planning-and a quasi-quantitative template for algorithm development. In order for it to remain useful, however, we must continue to enhance and augment the content of the atlas by taking advantage of recent advances in MR imaging that provide new functional and anatomical information. This new data is obtained mainly through three techniques: fMRI, DTI and MRS. By incorporating these data types, we will broaden the scope and applicability of this atlas.
