Walk straight through one traffic light (Blackfan), then turn left at the next one (Binney Street). Walk straight until you reach Francis Street. BWH main entrance is on your left.

At night or on weekends, take the Red Line subway inbound from Kendall to Park Street Station. Follow directions from downtown.

Arriving by car

From the North

Via Logan Airport, the Mystic River Bridge, Route 1, Routes 93 or 28, follow the signs to Storrow Drive. After the Copley Square/Massachusetts Avenue sign, take the left exit off Storrow Drive marked Fenway, Route 1. Take the right fork marked Boylston Street, Outbound. At a major intersection/rotary (look for the Landmark Center in front of you and to your right), turn left onto Brookline Avenue. Proceed past Beth Israel/Deaconess Hospital and through the Longwood Avenue intersection. Move to the left lane. Go through the next traffic light (Jimmy Fund Way), and take the next left onto Francis Street. The BWH main entrance is on your left (one block), and a parking garage is on your right.

Via the Southeast Expressway, take the Massachusetts Avenue/Roxbury exit. Follow Melnea Cass Boulevard through 6 lights to the end. You will see Northeastern University and the Ruggles Street MBTA station. Turn left onto Tremont Street. At Ruggles Street, turn right, then left at Huntington Avenue. Arriving by bicycle

Bicycling is a great way to get around the Boston metropolitan area. Oftentimes, it's also the fastest way.

From Cambridge (Havard Square)

Ride along the Cambridge side of the Charles River to the BU Bridge (beware of crossing traffic, pedestrians, potholes, and ice in the winter). (Alternatively, take Putnam Avenue from the Mt. Auburn Street / Mass Ave intersection through the Western Ave, River Street, and Magazine Street lights. Turn right on Pearl Street. Proceed to end. Turn left on Granite Street. Proceed to end. Turn right on Brookline Street, cross the rotary). Cross the BU Bridge. Bear left with traffic. At the first right, take a hard right onto Lenox (greater than 90 degree turn). Take the next left (Prescott), and another left (Euston). Turn right on Carlton Street. Cross Beacon Street. Follow Carlton Street as it turns right. Proceed straight (street becomes Colchester Street, then Chapel Street) past the Longwood T stop to the traffic light (Longwood Ave.) Turn left. Proceed across Riverway and Brookline Ave. Turn right on Binney Street. Proceed to top of hill. Turn left and ride one-half block. There are bike racks in front of you and to your left.

During the summer, all bike racks in this area fill up. Children's Hospital security has been known to discourage alternative transportation by locking up bikes locked to street signs. There is more bike parking available by turning left on Shattuck Street and riding to the end (Harvard Medical School and the Countway Library). The most unused bike racks are available on the plaza level of the Countway.

From Cambridge (MIT)

Follow Mass Ave across the Charles River on the Harvard Bridge. Turn right on Beacon Street. Move to the left lane. Ride under the underpass. Immediately after it, turn left, moving to the right lane. Cross Commonwealth Avenue. Ride up the onramp to Boylston. Bear right with traffic. Continue on Boylston Street outbound. Continue straight for about five blocks until you see a traffic light and a rotary in front of you (You'll also see the Landmark Center in front of you on your right). Turn left before the rotary onto Brookline Ave. Ride past Beth Israel/Deaconess Hospital, move to the left lane, and turn left with traffic onto Longwood. Take the next right onto Binney. Look for parking as above.
