Atsushi Yamada Ph.D. (April 2011-April 2013)

Atsushi is a Research Associate in Radiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He received a BS in Engineering in 2001, an MS in Computer Science and Engineering in 2003, and a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering in 2008 from the Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan. From October 2008 to March 2011, he was an Assistant Professor in the Nagoya Institute of Technology. His research background is in robotics and mechanism design, especially using elastic structures. He is working on CT liver ablation using 3D Slicer, and developing an endoscopic viewer system and a tracking system on 3D Slicer using Open Source Computer Vision (OpenCV).
