Hyungmin Kim Ph.D. (July-August 2011)

Hyungmin Kim received his engineering degree in mechanical engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1999, and the M.S. degree from the Robotics and Automation Laboratory under supervision of Frank Chongwoo Park, Seoul National University, in 2001. After his academic degree courses, he entered himself into the medical industry for developing various medical imaging softwares (Vworks, Vceph, Vimplant, OnDemand3D) and surgical navigation systems (In2Vision) at Cybermed Inc., Seoul, Korea. Then, he started his academic career as a Ph.D. student in biomedical engineering at the University of Bern, Bern, Switzerland. He also served as a Research Associate in Medical Image Analysis group at Institute for Surgical Technology and Biomechanics, University of Bern. He has received his PhD degree on developing planning and navigation system for cranio-maxillofacial surgery in 2011.

He is currently a post-doctoral research fellow of Radiology at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women's Hospital. He will be involved in developing image-guidance system for neuromodulation using focused ultrasound. He will also participate in various applications based on multi-modal informations (fMRI, PET, EIT, etcs).
