Emmanouel M. Chatzidakis M.D., Ph.D. (October 1997-February 1999)

Emmanouel is a research fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

He received his M.D. degree from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 1982, and the title of specialist neurosurgeon in Greece in 1992. He has been visiting neurosurgical fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at Q.M.C., University Hospital, Nottinghamm, U.K., 1993-1994.

He received his Ph.D. from the Medical Faculty, Surgical Section, of the University of Thrace ,Greece ,with Thesis on the study of hydrocephalus, in 1996.

He also recieved the European Certificate in Neurosurgery in Brussels in 1996. Working as neurosurgery specialist in the Department of Neurosurgery at General Hospital of Nikea, Pireus Greece, since 1995 he is also consultant in the 4th Surgical Department's ICU, of the University of Athens.

Emmanouel is part of a team that works with the Neurosurgery Department, at BWH. He is involved in making 3D models used for neurosurgical cases. He is also involved in helping with the implementation of a surgical navigation system which was developed in the SPL and which is currently used in the hospital's operating rooms. He is also working for the angiogenesis and its inhibition project at LMRC.
