Prior Training

  • M.D. UCSD
  • Ph.D., Bioengineering,UCSD

My research interest is in quantification of physiology as a way to help us develop computational or mathematical models of their behavior. In particular I am interested in:

  • Using imaging to produce physical models of transport in biologic systems
  • How diffusion of information effects the geometry living systems
  • Statistical learning machines (i.e Neural Networks) applied to medical decisions
  • Applications of new imaging techniques and sensors in the study of physiology
  • Dynamic modeling of nonlinear systems based on multi-dimensional time-series.

My current project involves developing tools that take advantage of already existing imaging capabilities to quantify pulmonary vascular morphology and its usage in disease processes.
