Sila Kurugol Ph.D.
Sila Kurugol is a post-doctoral research fellow in Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She obtained her PhD degree from Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Northeastern University, Boston, MA in August 2011 with a thesis entitled "Machine Learning and Model Based 3D Segmentation Algorithms for Challenging Medical Imaging Problems". Her current research is on the development and implementation of novel image analysis, machine learning and signal processing techniques to solve various problems related to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). This includes COPDGene and various other NIH-sponsored projects within the Applied Chest Imaging Lab and the LMI.
