Wendy Plesniak, Ph.D.


Wendy Plesniak is a Research Fellow at the Surgical Planning Lab at Brigham and Women's Hospital where she designs and develops visual displays and interfaces for software tools used in the analysis and evaluation of medical images. She is interested in design strategy and practice in scientific and engineering environments, is a member of Matter Group, a multidisciplinary strategy, design & development consultancy, and a co-founder of DesignThatMatters.org and ThinkCycle.org. She also co-founded Carnegie Mellon University's Studio for Creative Inquiry, a research center for experimental multidisciplinary art, and was a faculty member at CMU's College of Fine Arts. She has worked extensively on pictorial design for spatial display systems, and on experimental displays and interfaces including stereoscopic, holographic and haptic systems.
